وَصَلِّand pray الضُحىthe forenoon prayer وَإِلبَسand wear طِوالَtall القَلانِسِthe caps
They say, “Make pilgrimage to the House and shun youthful passion,
They say perform the pilgrimage and abstain from youth
and offer the forenoon prayer and wear tall caps.”
And pray at dawn and don long turbans
وَكَيفَand how يَحُجُّhe makes pilgrimage البَيتَthe House (the Kaaba) مَنone who فيin فُؤادِهِhis heart
لِحُبِّfor love of الغَوانيthe beautiful women البيضِthe fair-skinned أَكبَرَgreatest هاجِسِpreoccupation
And how can one make pilgrimage to the House, when in his heart
But how can one whose heart is possessed
love of fair-skinned beauties is the greatest preoccupation?
By fair maidens perform the hajj pilgrimage
أُحِبُّI love الغَوانيthe beautiful women الفارِكاتِwho loathe بُعولَهاtheir husbands
وَإِنand even though كُنَّthey are لاnot يَمنَعنَthey fend off راحَةَthe palm of لامِسِone who touches
I love the beauties who loathe their husbands,
I love maidens who abandon their husbands
even though they do not fend off a caresser’s palm.
Even if they grant no rest to one who touches
