تجنَّ واِعتب تجد منّي بِذاكَ رضاً

تجنَّ واِعتب تجد منّي بِذاكَ رضاً

وَالعذرُ إِن شئتَ مسموعٌ وَمَقبولُ

وَالعذرُ إِن شئتَ مسموعٌ وَمَقبولُ

Wrong me and reproach me; you will find me content with that.

Reproach me and complain, you will find me pleased with that,

And your excuse, if you wish, will be heard and accepted.

And if you wish, my excuses are heard and accepted,

ولم أؤاخذكَ في ذَنبٍ ولا عتبٍ

ولم أؤاخذكَ في ذَنبٍ ولا عتبٍ

فالذَنبُ والعتبُ موضوعٌ وَمَحمولُ

فالذَنبُ والعتبُ موضوعٌ وَمَحمولُ

And I have not held you to account for any offense or reproach.

I did not blame you for any fault or reproach,

For the offense is set aside and the reproach borne.

For the fault and reproach are laid aside and borne.
