You brought joy to eyes with your integrity
Tus, Baghdad, and Samarra.
Gracing you in the prime of youth with its adornments
أَقررتَyou gladdened أَعينَthe eyes of منthose who بهاare there بنزاهَةٍthrough purity

You delighted the eyes of those there with a purity
God send His prayers upon you from the abode
That adorned you in youth with its ornaments.
Where perfection lies buried in its chambers
صَلّىmay bless عليكَupon you اللَهُGod منas one مُستودَعٍlaid to rest

May God bless you, one laid to rest
And may your Lord’s mercy come upon you morn and eve
In a garden whose earth enfolded perfection.
Watering your tomb, giving it life
وَتواتَرتand may come in succession رحماتُthe mercies of ربِّكyour Lord بُكرةًin the morning

And may your Lord's mercies come in succession, morning
No longing loved one or soul remembering its passion
And evening, their rain watering your earth,
Has ever grieved as I grieve for you

As long as a yearning lover longs for his beloved ones,
And a soul remembers the dear ones of its love.
