لا طرقتكَ الخطوبُ والعِلَلُ

لا طرقتكَ الخطوبُ والعِلَلُ

ولا اِعتراكَ الفتورُ والكسلُ

ولا اِعتراكَ الفتورُ والكسلُ

May calamities and ailments never visit you,

Neither hardships nor illnesses have afflicted you,

Nor may languor and laziness assail you.

Nor have laziness and weariness overtaken you.

حاشاك من عِلَّةٍ ومن كسلٍ

حاشاك من عِلَّةٍ ومن كسلٍ

ما اِعتلَّ إلّا الرَجاءُ والأملُ

ما اِعتلَّ إلّا الرَجاءُ والأملُ

Far be illness and laziness from you;

You are far from any illness or laziness,

Only hope and expectation have fallen ill.

Only hope and ambition became ill.

يا ماجِداً بالفَخارِ متَّسِماً

يا ماجِداً بالفَخارِ متَّسِماً

دانت له الشامخات والقُلَلُ

دانت له الشامخات والقُلَلُ

O noble one, distinguished by glory,

O glorious one marked with pride,

To whom towering heights and peaks have bowed.

Even the highest summits bow down to him.

وَلاح نجمُ الهُدى بطلعتِه

وَلاح نجمُ الهُدى بطلعتِه

فاِتَّضحَت من ضيائِه السُبُلُ

فاِتَّضحَت من ضيائِه السُبُلُ

And the star of guidance shone in his countenance,

The star of guidance shone in its rising,

So its radiance made the paths clear.

So its paths became illuminated by its light.

أَنتَ الَّذي حزتَ كلَّ مكرمةٍ

أَنتَ الَّذي حزتَ كلَّ مكرمةٍ

بها مدى الدَهر يُضربُ المثلُ

بها مدى الدَهر يُضربُ المثلُ

You are the one who has attained every noble virtue

You are the one who has achieved every glory,

That is held up as an example for all time.

Through which examples are set for ages.

فاِسلم ودُم راقياً ذُرى شَرفٍ

فاِسلم ودُم راقياً ذُرى شَرفٍ

تقصرُ عنها البوازلُ الطُوَلُ

تقصرُ عنها البوازلُ الطُوَلُ

So remain safe, and keep ascending the summits of honor,

So be at peace, remaining at the height of nobility,

Which tall, full-grown camels cannot reach.

Which the greatest heights fall short of reaching.

واِبقَ موقّاً من كُلِّ حادثةٍ

واِبقَ موقّاً من كُلِّ حادثةٍ

وَغصنُك الدهرَ مورقٌ خَضِلُ

وَغصنُك الدهرَ مورقٌ خَضِلُ

And remain protected from every misfortune,

And remain alert, safe from every misfortune,

And may your bough be forever leafy and lush.

While your branch remains green and thriving through the ages.
