إِنَّ المكارمَ والفضائلَ وَالنَدى

إِنَّ المكارمَ والفضائلَ وَالنَدى

طَبعٌ جُبلتَ عليه غير تطبُّعِ

طَبعٌ جُبلتَ عليه غير تطبُّعِ

Indeed, noble qualities, virtues, and generosity

Indeed, virtues, merits, and nobility

are a nature you were born with, not an affectation.

Are innate character, not mere affectation,

والمَجدُ والشرفُ المؤثَّل والعُلى

والمَجدُ والشرفُ المؤثَّل والعُلى

وقفٌ عليكَ وَلَيسَ بالمتسودَعِ

وقفٌ عليكَ وَلَيسَ بالمتسودَعِ

And glory, deep-rooted honor, and eminence

And glory, honor adorned, and high estate

are an endowment reserved for you, not merely held in trust.

Are due to you, no borrowed finery.
