He appeared while the night was thick with darkness,

As though its stars were pearls.

A fawn whose charms were delicate,

So a gaze almost melted him.

A sorrowful one, with a branch above him,

And a branch, with a moon above it.

I conversed with him by night until dawn,

And my whole night was dawn.

    Whenever he sways, strutting in

His finery, loving him is peril.

The nights of union with him are radiant,

    But peril lies before them.

I sealed my desire with love for him,

So I have no desire other than him.
