From the outpouring of my tears on the day of his departure,

I made heavy clouds rain, and they pour down.

And from the blaze within my ribs for love of him,

I kindled a fire in the encampment, and it rages.

And how often I concealed my passion, fearing its exposure,

Yet in concealment it grew more widely known—and love is tearful sorrow.
