كَماjust as اِرتاعtook fright ظبيٌa gazelle خوفَfor fear of كفَّةِthe snare of جازرِa slaughterer
He signals with a glance, trembling in fear,
Like a gazelle frightened by a slaughterer’s snare.

And his eyes are filled with tears, like a narcissus
On which fallen dew lies without dripping.
