It is enough for love that my soul died for you,
According to love, my soul is devoted to you
From longing, and for its loss I seek God's recompense.
With passion, and for it I seek reward from God

O you who leave me a byword in love's byways,
O you who've abandoned love's principles as an example
You unravelled the cord of fidelity; tell me, what is the reason?
You've broken loyalty's rope, tell me what's the cause

In beauty, the Arabs trace their descent to his qualities.
To its meanings, beautifully belonging to the Arabs

Her origin sprang from the grape cluster's blood;
Born from vine's blood, it originated
So the vine is her mother, and rain-cloud water her father.
So the vine's the mother, and the press's water, the father
