  1. رعى الله اوقاتا تقضت بصاحب

    يوارث حفظي في البديع بحفظه

    May God cherish the times that passed with a companion

    who exchanges his store of eloquence with mine.

  2. اذا لم تدر كأس المدامة بيننا

    اديرت كؤوس بين لفظي ولفظه

    If no cup of wine circulated among us,

    cups were passed between my words and his.
