Delight my eyelids with that beautiful sight.
Delight my eyes with that beautiful sight,
And keep my soul alive, for my body has perished for you.
And let my soul outpace my body which is perishing in you.

My soul longed to meet you, oh how you torment it!
And has found sweet the trials it suffers from you.
And from you I found sweet what ordeals I received.

And be gentle with a heart that your dwelling has inhabited, oh my dwelling!

My religion and your love I have gathered in your gaze,
O you who are composed of a full moon and a bough.
Oh you who gather the full moon and the branch.

ما للوصال سوى الارواح من ثمن
Turn your face toward me, and accept my lifeblood in exchange;
Accept my soul in exchange for your face,
There is no price for union but souls.
For the price of union is only the souls.

By the magic in your eyes, with which you have bewitched
With the magic in your eyes that seduced me,
My reason, and by the sickness you bequeathed to my body,
You made my heart and body sick.

Is cruel to me—and how many trials I have endured!
And how much cruelty I suffered from ordeals!

فان قبلت تكن من اعظم المنن
And I have given you my soul; I take no joy in it.
And I gave you my soul, not taking it back,
So if you accept it, that will be among the greatest favors.
So if you accept, it will be the greatest blessing.
