وخَالِقْ بنُقْصَاٍن جمَيعَ الورى تَسُدْ

وخَالِقْ بنُقْصَاٍن جمَيعَ الورى تَسُدْ

فيا سُوءَ ما تلقَاهُ إنْ كنْتَ فاضِلا

فيا سُوءَ ما تلقَاهُ إنْ كنْتَ فاضِلا

And deal with all humankind as one imperfect, and you will prevail.

The creator of all mankind is perfect despite any shortcoming,

For, oh, how ill you fare if you are virtuous!

So how evil is what you encounter if you are virtuous!

ألمْ ترَ أن البدْرَ يُرْقبُ ناقِصا

ألمْ ترَ أن البدْرَ يُرْقبُ ناقِصا

ويُتْركُ مَنْسيا إذا كانَ كامِلا

ويُتْركُ مَنْسيا إذا كانَ كامِلا

Have you not seen that the full moon is watched for when incomplete,

Have you not seen that the crescent moon is watched when incomplete,

And left forgotten when it is full?

Yet forgotten when full?
