إذا كنْتَ تَعْلَمُ أنَّ الأُمور

إذا كنْتَ تَعْلَمُ أنَّ الأُمور

بِحُكْمِ الإلهِ كَما قَدْ قَضى

بِحُكْمِ الإلهِ كَما قَدْ قَضى

If you know that all affairs

If you know that affairs

are governed by God’s decree, just as they have been ordained,

are governed by God's decree, as He has ordained,

فَفِيمَ التفكُّرُ والحُكْمُ ماضٍ

فَفِيمَ التفكُّرُ والحُكْمُ ماضٍ

ولا رَدَّ لِلْحُكْمِ مَهْما مَضى

ولا رَدَّ لِلْحُكْمِ مَهْما مَضى

why, then, brood, when the decree runs its course

then why ponder, when the decree takes its course

and cannot be turned back once it has gone forth?

and cannot be reversed, whatever course it takes?

فَخَلِّ الوُجودَ كَما شاءَه

فَخَلِّ الوُجودَ كَما شاءَه

مُدَبِّرهُ وابْغِ منْهُ الرِّضى

مُدَبِّرهُ وابْغِ منْهُ الرِّضى

So leave existence as its Governor has willed it,

So leave existence as it was willed

and seek contentment from Him.
