إذا ما دَعَتْكَ النَّفْسُ يوماً لِريبَةٍ

إذا ما دَعَتْكَ النَّفْسُ يوماً لِريبَةٍ

فحاذِرْ عِقابَ اللهِ فَهوَ شديدُهُ

فحاذِرْ عِقابَ اللهِ فَهوَ شديدُهُ

If one day your soul calls you to a dubious deed,

If ever your soul whispers you towards sin

then beware God's punishment, for He is severe in punishing.

فصَبْرُ الفَتى عَمَّا يُريدُ أخَفُّ مِنْ

فصَبْرُ الفَتى عَمَّا يُريدُ أخَفُّ مِنْ

تَصَبُّرهِ كرهاً لِما لا يُريدُهُ

تَصَبُّرهِ كرهاً لِما لا يُريدُهُ

For a young man's restraint from what he desires is easier than

A young man's patience for what he desires is lighter

his forcing himself unwillingly to endure what he does not desire.

Than his patience against what he does not desire
