إذا ما دَعَتْكَ دَواعي الهَوى

إذا ما دَعَتْكَ دَواعي الهَوى

لِما عَنْهُ سُبحانَهُ قَد نَهى

لِما عَنْهُ سُبحانَهُ قَد نَهى

If ever the promptings of desire call you

When passion's call doth bid thee stray

to what He—glory be to Him—has forbidden,

From what th'Almighty doth forbid

فأيْقِنْ بأنَّ الرَّدى فاجِئٌ

فأيْقِنْ بأنَّ الرَّدى فاجِئٌ

وأنَّ الى ربِّكَ المُنْتَهى

وأنَّ الى ربِّكَ المُنْتَهى

then be certain that death comes without warning,

Know that ruin comes thy way

and that to your Lord is the final destination.

And the journey's end is with thy Lord.
