I say, as the Spring of Tears lies before our eyes,

And a side of the vizierate's garden comes into view:

Is this a sky, or a building raised aloft by

Stars before whose radiance the stars lower their gaze?

Its forms mirror one another, face to face,

In auspicious accord—its necklace's centerpiece and pearls.

And the waters flow through it, a Milky Way,

Its channels shooting stars with flowing tresses.

And from its heights a hall looks out, encircled by

Glass windows whose ornament is harmoniously proportioned.

It overlooks a pool encircled by myrtle,

Like a mouth parting in a smile, or a mustache turning green.

There is all the majesty that eminence could desire,

In which its garden and the ranks take pride.
