I entrust to God a beloved who has gone far
I entrust to God a beloved who has gone far
from me, though my innermost heart remains his dwelling.
from me, though my heart remains his dwelling.

مِنْ بُرَحاءِ الوَجْدِ ما أوْدَعَهْ
The day I bade him farewell, he left within my heart,
He left in my heart, the day I bade him farewell,
as he went from me, such searing anguish of longing!
what he left there of longing’s searing anguish.

O Lord, may his journeying be in Your protection;
O my Lord, may his travels be in Your keeping;
God never lets what is entrusted to Him be lost.
God never lets what is entrusted to Him be lost.
