هو مورد للمعتفين وغلةٌ

في صدر من ناواه ليست تنقع

He is a watering place for seekers of bounty, and a burning thirst

He is a refuge for the afflicted and a harvest

In the breast of whoever opposes him, never quenched.

In the heart of one who drank from it, it does not get saturated

ينجاب سجف النقع منه في الوغى

ينجاب سجف النقع منه في الوغى

والطعن يخطب والمقاتل تسمع

The veil of dust lifts from him in battle,

The blade of the wet sword flows from it in the tumult

While spear-thrusts preach and the vital parts listen,

And the thrust preaches and the fighter you hear

عن طلعة كالشمس منها أشرقت

فالرمح يسجد والصوارم تركع

فالرمح يسجد والصوارم تركع

Revealing a sunlike countenance, from which the sun shone forth;

Of a rising like the sun from which it shone

So the spear prostrates itself, and the sharp swords bow.
