متفلسف في دينه متزندقِ
The decree took effect, seizing every dissembler,
a would-be philosopher in his faith, a heretic.
بالمنطقِwith logic اشتغلواthey busied themselves فقيلso it was said حقيقةtruly
بالمنطقِ اشتغلوا فقيل حقيقة
إنَّindeed البلاَءaffliction موكلٌappointed to attend بالمنطِقto speech (also: to logic)
إنَّ البلاَء موكلٌ بالمنطِق
They busied themselves with logic, so it was truly said:
“Indeed, affliction is bound to speech.”
