كحاجب الشيخ عم الشيب أكثره

كحاجب الشيخ عم الشيب أكثره

وأخمص الرجل في لطفٍ وتقويس

وأخمص الرجل في لطفٍ وتقويس

Like an old man's eyebrow, gray hair covering most of it,

Like the eyebrow of the old sheikh, mostly white

Resembling the eyebrow of an elder, mostly turned gray,

And like the arch of a foot in delicacy and curvature.

And the sole of the foot, delicate and arched

And the sole of a foot in its delicate curvature;

ولاح في الأفق قوس الله مكتسباً

ولاح في الأفق قوس الله مكتسباً

من كل لونٍ كأذناب الطواويس

من كل لونٍ كأذناب الطواويس

And God's bow shone on the horizon, taking on

God's rainbow shone on the horizon

And God's bow appeared on the horizon, endowed

Every color, like the tails of peacocks.

With every vibrant color, like the tails of peacocks.
