I shall find none after to veil my pain.

My grief after your parting can never be hidden.

قصدت ديارك قصد المشوق

وللدهر فينا كرور ومر

I sought your dwellings as one filled with longing,

I sought your home longing for you,

I sought out your dwelling as a yearning lover would,

And time has its returns and passages among us.

While fate weaves days for us, bitter and sweet.

While fate relentlessly turns and passes over us.

فألفيتها منك قفراً خلاءً

فألفيتها منك قفراً خلاءً

فأسكبت عيني عليك العبر

فأسكبت عيني عليك العبر

Then I found them deserted, empty of you,

I found it emptied of you, desolate,

Yet I found it desolate and empty of your presence,

So my eye poured out tears for you.

And shed tears for you copiously and dark.

So my eyes poured forth their weeping tears for you.
