حكم المقصر غير حكم المقصر
One who forgets loved ones differs from one who ceases to long for them.
I forget all but those who console me,
One who merely forgets the beloved is not like one who finds true solace from them,
The judgment on one who neglects differs from that on one who desists.
The destiny of the negligent is not like the destiny of the diligent.
The judgment on the negligent is unlike the judgment on the one who voluntarily desists;
ماnot قاصرone who restrains للنفسfor the soul غيرother than مجيبهاone who answers it
ما قاصر للنفس غير مجيبها
ماnot الصابرthe patient one المطبوعnaturally disposed كالمتصبرlike one who forces himself to be patient
ما الصابر المطبوع كالمتصبر
One who restrains the soul is none other than one who answers it.
No one is negligent except to their own soul,
The one who curbs his soul is not like the one who yields to its desires,
One patient by nature is not like one who forces himself to be patient.
The naturally patient is not like the pretender.
Nor is the one naturally patient ever like the one who merely strains to endure.
