لقد قرت العينان بالقرب منكم

لقد قرت العينان بالقرب منكم

كما سخنت أيام يطويكم البعد

كما سخنت أيام يطويكم البعد

Indeed, my eyes have cooled with joy at your nearness,

My eyes found peace in your company

My eyes have found cool delight in your nearness,

just as they grew hot with sorrow in the days when distance enfolded you.

As the days warmed when distance wrapped you

Just as they wept hot tears in the days when distance drew you away.

فللَه فيما قد مضى الصبر والرضى

فللَه فيما قد مضى الصبر والرضى

وللَه فيما قد قضى الشكر والحمد

وللَه فيما قد قضى الشكر والحمد

So, for God's sake, patience and contentment with what has passed;

So for what has passed, praise & thanks be to God

Unto God, for all that has passed, belong patience and contentment,

and to God, thanks and praise for what He has decreed.

And for what God ordained, patience & contentment

And unto God, for all that He has decreed, belong gratitude and praise.
