  1. ودادي لك الباقي على حسب كونه

    تناهى فلم ينقص بشيءٍ ولم يزد

    My enduring love for you, in keeping with its nature,

    Has reached its limit: it has neither diminished at all nor increased.

  2. وليست له غير الإرادة علة

    ولا سبب حاشاه يعلمه أحد

    It has no cause other than will,

    Nor any reason apart from it that anyone knows.

  3. إذا ما وجدنا الشيء علة نفسه

    فذاك وجود ليس يفنى على الأبد

    If we find a thing to be its own cause,

    Then that is an existence that never perishes.

  4. وإما وجدناه لشيء خلافه

    فإغدامه في عدمنا ما له وجد

    But if we find it exists because of something else,

    Then its annihilation lies in our loss of what it existed for.
