هذا أميرُ المؤمنينَ بمجلسٍ

هذا أميرُ المؤمنينَ بمجلسٍ

أبصرتُ فيه الوحي والتنزيلا

أبصرتُ فيه الوحي والتنزيلا

This is the Commander of the Faithful in an assembly;

This is the Commander of the Faithful in counsel

In it I beheld divine inspiration and revelation.

Where I saw revelation and divine descent

وإذاتمثلَ راكباً في موكبٍ

وإذاتمثلَ راكباً في موكبٍ

عاينتُ تحتَ ركابهِ جبريلا

عاينتُ تحتَ ركابهِ جبريلا

And when he appeared riding in a procession,

And when he appeared riding in procession

I saw Gabriel beneath his stirrup.

I saw beneath his feet Gabriel present
