بأعبائها إني إذن لسروق
If I deny your favor and come to you burdened
With a lineage in generosity, longstanding
With its loads, I am indeed a thief.
None faulted them but delusions' strikes

Could I forget you, when not a murmur of sound could be heard,
Except that I am drowning in their sea
And I lay unconscious, struck senseless,
If you insist on obligating me with kindness

And no strength could lift my body,
Let not the deep sea submerge me
And no saliva moistened my tongue?
My tongue falters from praise, sharp sword

You replenished me when the clouds' hand was not generous
Thought astray, precarious
To me, nor the heart of time compassionate.

How many blessed favors of yours I hold,
Equally, your servants or free
With an ancient pedigree among noble deeds!

Loosening and correcting its deviance
Except that I am drowned in their sea.
It has been purified until no corruption remains

If, through kindness, you must inevitably drown me,
Cleansed until no immorality flows
Then let not the sea cast me out, deep as it is.

My tongue wearies in speaking of you, though it is a sharp
And the blacksmith forged the iron armor links
Sword; thought recoils, though it is subtle.
No harm in being envied, it suits and complements

It is your right to possess people as slaves,
Your loftiness, deserving and fitting jealousy
Alike those among them enslaved and free.
Those envious of your heights do not hurt you

As your days contend with them dominatingly
And through you its breaches and rents were bound.
God has decreed the people their rights to you

While you owe no rights to the people
And purified until no wickedness remained.
