كأسٌ وإلا فاسْقنِي بالفَمِ

Rise and give me drink from a cup, if there is

a cup to be had; otherwise, give me drink from your mouth.

أما تَرَى النجم الذي كان كالدِّ

ينارِ قد أصبحَ كالدرهمِ

ينارِ قد أصبحَ كالدرهمِ

Do you not see how the star that was like a di-

nar has now become like a dirham?

والفجرُ في رَوْض الدُّجَى جدولٌ

والفجرُ في رَوْض الدُّجَى جدولٌ

سارَ ليَسْقي زَهَرَ الأَنْجُمِ

سارَ ليَسْقي زَهَرَ الأَنْجُمِ

And dawn, in the garden of night, is a stream

that has flowed forth to water the blossoms of the stars.
