يَنْثُرُ الطَّلَّ كما يُنْثَرُ مِنْ

يَنْثُرُ الطَّلَّ كما يُنْثَرُ مِنْ

وَجْنَةِ المعشوق رَشْحُ العَرَقِ

وَجْنَةِ المعشوق رَشْحُ العَرَقِ

It scatters dew, just as from

The dew scatters as sweat scatters from

the beloved’s cheek beads of sweat are scattered.

The garden of the beloved,

ذو وقارٍ مازجَ البشْرَ كما

ذو وقارٍ مازجَ البشْرَ كما

مازجَ الصُّبْحَ عَبُوسُ الغَسَقِ

مازجَ الصُّبْحَ عَبُوسُ الغَسَقِ

Possessed of dignity mingled with cheer, just as

With dignity it mixes with mankind as

dusk’s frown mingled with dawn.

The dawn mixes with the gloom of night.
