رَشَأٌ تعلَّق خَصْرُهُ من رِدْفِه

رَشَأٌ تعلَّق خَصْرُهُ من رِدْفِه

فَهُوَ الظلومُ وخَصْرُهُ المَظْلومُ

فَهُوَ الظلومُ وخَصْرُهُ المَظْلومُ

A young gazelle whose waist hangs from his haunches;

so he is the oppressor, and his waist the oppressed.

لا تستبينُ كأنَّما أَرواحها

لا تستبينُ كأنَّما أَرواحها

خُلِقَتْ وما خُلِقَتْ لهنَّ جسوم

خُلِقَتْ وما خُلِقَتْ لهنَّ جسوم

They are not discernible, as though their souls

were created, but no bodies were created for them.
