سِرْ تحْظَ باليُسر إن كابدت في أُفقٍ

سِرْ تحْظَ باليُسر إن كابدت في أُفقٍ

عُسْراً فقد يجدُ الدرياقَ مَنْ لُسِعا

عُسْراً فقد يجدُ الدرياقَ مَنْ لُسِعا

Travel, and you will find ease if in some region you have endured

Good fortune comes to those who persevere when faced with adversity in the horizon,

hardship; for one who has been stung may find the antidote.

For he who is stung may find the antidote,

وربّما ضاقَ رزقُ المرء في بلدٍ

وربّما ضاقَ رزقُ المرء في بلدٍ

حتَّى إذا سارَ عَنْهُ دَرّ واتَّسعا

حتَّى إذا سارَ عَنْهُ دَرّ واتَّسعا

And a man's livelihood may grow scarce in a land,

And perhaps a man's livelihood is constricted in one land,

until, when he leaves it, it flows abundantly and expands.

Until he departs it, and it expands with ease.
