سيدي حشمتي عليك حرامٌ

سيدي حشمتي عليك حرامٌ

وبحكم الكريم تقضي الكرامُ

وبحكم الكريم تقضي الكرامُ

My lord, you must not make me feel abashed;

And the noble judge according to the noble man's ruling.

وأرى مذ ملكتني أن مثلي

وأرى مذ ملكتني أن مثلي

أبداً لا تفيدك الأيامُ

أبداً لا تفيدك الأيامُ

And since you made me yours, I see that one like me

Will never be bestowed upon you by the days.

خادمٌ ناصحٌ وعبدٌ محب

خادمٌ ناصحٌ وعبدٌ محب

وصديقٌ وصاحبٌ وغلامُ

وصديقٌ وصاحبٌ وغلامُ

A devoted servant and a loving slave,

And a friend, a companion, and a page:

خمسة قد جمعتهم لك وحدي

خمسة قد جمعتهم لك وحدي

لمعاني اختصاصهم والسلام

لمعاني اختصاصهم والسلام

Five whom I alone have brought together for you,

With their distinctive qualities—and peace.
