  1. عجبت من الزمان وأي شيءٍ

    عجيبٍ لا أراه من الزمانِ

    I marveled at Time—and what strange thing

    do I not see at Time's hands?

  2. أتأخذ قوت جرذانٍ عجافٍ

    فتجعله لأوعالٍ سمانِ

    Do you take the food of gaunt rats

    and then give it to fat ibexes?
