فَراقَand was pleasing منfrom الوجْهِthe face الأغرِّresplendent وضوحُradiance
He shows you the glad omens that have gleamed,
He shows you the ornaments that have shone
and radiance from the resplendent face shone fair.
Like the radiance of a cheerful face
فيَحْسِبُهاso he deems them مَنْwhoever يهْتَديis guided بِسنائِهاby their radiance
عزائِمَresolves تغْدوgo forth at dawn فيamong العِدَىthe foes وتَروحُand return at dusk
So whoever is guided by their radiance deems them
And he who is guided by its brilliance thinks
resolves that go forth among the foes at dawn and return at dusk.
They are resolves that attack and retreat
وإنّand indeed أَفَنْتَthe Infante الرّومِof the Rūm ينقادُsubmits خاضِعاًhumbly
كماjust as انقادَyielded منْfrom بعدِafter الإباءِdefiance جَموحُa restive steed
And indeed, the Infante of the Rūm submits humbly,
And if you exhaust the Romans they will submit
as a restive steed yielded after defiance.
As the obstinate submitted after coercion
سيرْضَىwill accept بحُكْمِwith the judgment of السيفِthe sword منْهُamong his people مسوِّفٌa procrastinator

A procrastinator among his people will accept the sword's judgment,
He who procrastinates will be content with the rule of the sword
and a miser will freely part with abundant wealth.
And the miser will be generous with ample wealth

And that is easy by the will of one with power,
That is easy with the will of the Omnipotent
who grants a hoped-for goal and makes it attainable.
Who attains the desired goal and facilitates

As for us—by God the Great—in our resolve,
As for us, by Allah Almighty, our intention
we march at noon to aid guidance, and return at dusk,
Is to exile in supporting the right guidance and give respite

with hearts that never settle into repose;
With hearts that know no rest or peace
and can a wind grow still with one who stirs up dust?
Can the wind rest when stirred?

I am Al-Yusufi, the successful one of righteous aims
a successful aim of kings is discussed.
Whenever a lofty aim for kings is remembered

Destroys the offspring of enemies and facilitates

The king of the Rūm openly proclaims his peace accord,
The King of Rome openly declares his peace
and the proof of my purpose is plain to him.
And the proof of my purpose is evident to him

Do I aspire to aught but wars?
And have I any ambition for anything but jihad?
Do I aspire to aught but jihad?

And indeed, my station is pleased by no other station;
My position is not one that is pleased
so fewer conquests are no sign of flagging.
With slackening of conquests
