للهِ منّي ثوبٌ عجيبٌ

للهِ منّي ثوبٌ عجيبٌ

أبْدَى الجمالَ وأبْدَعَهْ

أبْدَى الجمالَ وأبْدَعَهْ

God be praised—what a wondrous garment I am!

A wondrous garment I am for God

It revealed beauty and fashioned it exquisitely.

Revealing and perfecting beauty

حلَلْتُ فوقَ الرّؤوسِ أفْقاً

حلَلْتُ فوقَ الرّؤوسِ أفْقاً

قدْ أخذَ البَدْرُ مَطْلِعَهْ

قدْ أخذَ البَدْرُ مَطْلِعَهْ

I settled above heads as a horizon,

I hover above heads as a horizon

where the full moon has taken its place to rise.

Where the full moon takes its rising

أحُفُّ بالوجْهِ منهُ حتّى

أحُفُّ بالوجْهِ منهُ حتّى

تحْسِبُني هالةً معَهْ

تحْسِبُني هالةً معَهْ

I encircle its face, until

My face veils it as if I'm its halo

you take me for a halo accompanying it.

You'd think me its radiance accompanying

إن كنتُ أُفْقاً فالتِّبْرُ منّي

إن كنتُ أُفْقاً فالتِّبْرُ منّي

كمْ بارِقٍ فيهِ أطْلَعَهْ

كمْ بارِقٍ فيهِ أطْلَعَهْ

If I am a horizon, then the gold upon me—

If I'm the horizon, lightning in me

how many a gleam it has made rise within it!

Flashes with many brilliant risings

فالزُّهْرَ أشبهْتُها اجْتِلاءً

فالزُّهْرَ أشبهْتُها اجْتِلاءً

والزَّهْرَ أحْكي تضوُّعَهْ

والزَّهْرَ أحْكي تضوُّعَهْ

Thus, to the eye, I resembled the bright stars,

I've made the flowers my image in bloom

and echo the flowers in their wafting fragrance.

And told of the flowers' burgeoning

يوسُفٌ النّاصِرُ المرَجّى

يوسُفٌ النّاصِرُ المرَجّى

شرّفَ قدْري ورفَّعَهْ

شرّفَ قدْري ورفَّعَهْ

Yusuf al-Nasir, in whom hope is placed,

Joseph the victorious, hoped for

honored my standing and raised it high.

Has honored and raised my esteem

أُبْدي جَمالاً لدى إمامٍ

أُبْدي جَمالاً لدى إمامٍ

والَى الجَميلَ وأتْبَعَهْ

والَى الجَميلَ وأتْبَعَهْ

I display beauty before an imam

I reveal beauty before an Imam

who bestowed kindness continually and followed it with more.

And inspire the beautiful, pursuing it

فدامَ والدّينُ ذو انتِظارٍ

فدامَ والدّينُ ذو انتِظارٍ

بهِ ولا زالَ في دعَهْ

بهِ ولا زالَ في دعَهْ

So may he endure, while the faith looks expectantly

May he who awaits the religion endure

to him; and may he ever remain at ease.

With him, never ceasing to call
