He hopes for my patience—yet what patience

could a love-stricken, bold heart have?

He says, when passion has wasted him:

“Indeed, my heart was singled out for a grievous illness.”

He spends the night as though upon embers of ghada wood,

even if he lies upon a soft bed.

The carefree one sleeps, but the sorrowful has no

slumber when the carefree one's sleep grows long.
