You turned me against my life when I was enamored of it;

You tempted me with my life when you tempted with it

So my long survival became one of my enemies.

So the length of my stay became some of my enemies

فكيف ينعش من أرداه ناعشه

So how can one be revived, struck down by his reviver

So how can someone who wanted to kill him revive him

And by one who views his body as physicians do?

And who sees his body sees the opinion of the doctors

بطبكم ودوائي عندكم دائي

Or how can my heart recover from its passionate longing

Or how can my heart heal from its love sickness

Through your treatment, when my cure with you is my disease?

With your medicine and my medicine is with you, my disease
