O my hope, is there any prospect of your keeping faith,

that I may seek it, or has it already reached its end?

فإن يك ما قد خفت حقاً لا تعد

فإن يك ما قد خفت حقاً لا تعد

فلن يستوي موفي الفؤاد وعاذره

فلن يستوي موفي الفؤاد وعاذره

So if what I have feared is true, make no promises,

If what I feared is true, make me no more promises

for one who keeps faith with the heart and one who excuses it are not equal.

وإلا فلا تعتب علي فإنه
