May God water the lowland’s sands with cloudburst and steady rain,
May God water the sands of al-Qāʿ with a downpour and steady rain,
That through it those faded traces may come alive.
to revive with it those effaced traces.

Is it longing for Najd—though between me and meeting her lie
Do I long for Najd, though between me and reaching it

Let them bring upon me whatever affliction they bear—
Let them come to me with whatever afflictions they bear in their wombs,
For nothing can bar what God decrees.
for none can hold back what God decrees.
