واللَه لا نظرت عيني إليك ولا

سالت مساربها شوقاً إليك دما

By God, my eye has never looked upon you, nor

Have its channels streamed blood in longing for you,

ألا رياءً لدفع القول عنك ولا

ألا رياءً لدفع القول عنك ولا

نازعتك الدهر إلا مكرهاً كلما

نازعتك الدهر إلا مكرهاً كلما

Except in pretense, to ward off talk about you; nor

Have I ever contended with you, save when compelled and wounded.

إن كنت خنت فلا أضمر خيانتكم

إن كنت خنت فلا أضمر خيانتكم

واللَه يأخذ ممن خان أو ظلما

واللَه يأخذ ممن خان أو ظلما

If I have betrayed, I harbor no treachery toward you;

And God exacts retribution from whoever betrays or does wrong.

سماحةً لمحبٍّ خان صاحبه

سماحةً لمحبٍّ خان صاحبه

ما خان قط محبٌّ يعرف الكرما

ما خان قط محبٌّ يعرف الكرما

Show forgiveness to a lover who betrayed his companion:

No lover who knows generosity has ever betrayed.
