قُل للبهاءِ يُطِلْ مِطالي جاهداً

قُل للبهاءِ يُطِلْ مِطالي جاهداً

وَيَصُدُّني مَهما أستطاعَ وَيَنْحس

وَيَصُدُّني مَهما أستطاعَ وَيَنْحس

Tell Bahāʾ to do his utmost to keep putting me off,

Say to the brilliance 'linger forth my days though you resist me howsoever you are able, and though I fail to capture you, my efforts shall not have been in vain, for Glory is beyond all capture.

and rebuff me as much as he can, and act meanly.

فلأحبسنه متى ظَفرُت بحَبْسه

فلأحبسنه متى ظَفرُت بحَبْسه

جَهدي وإنْ كانَ الخرا لا يُحبَسُ

جَهدي وإنْ كانَ الخرا لا يُحبَسُ

For I shall surely imprison him whenever I manage to confine him,

with all my might—even though shit cannot be confined.
