  1. شمس الدين قد أبطأت عنا

    لأمرٍ قُل لَنا ماذا الجَفاء

    Shams al-Din, you have delayed coming to us

    For some reason—tell us, why this coldness?

  2. وَقُلتَ اليومَ بعدَ العَصر تأتي

    وَبَعْدَ العصرِ يأتينا الجزاءُ

    And you said you would come today after the afternoon,

    And after the afternoon our recompense comes to us.
