وَلَقَدْ نَصَحْتُ لَكُمْ بِكُلِّ لِسانِ

وَلَقَدْ نَصَحْتُ لَكُمْ بِكُلِّ لِسانِ

وَرَوَيْتُ هذا الشأن عن ساسانِ

وَرَوَيْتُ هذا الشأن عن ساسانِ

And indeed I have advised you in every tongue,

I have advised you with every tongue

And related this matter on Sasan's authority.

And told this matter from the Sasanids

فَلَئِنْ قَبِلْتُمْ ما بَذَلتُ فإنّكُمْ

فَلَئِنْ قَبِلْتُمْ ما بَذَلتُ فإنّكُمْ

أنأى الورى عن مَوْطنِ الحِرمانِ

أنأى الورى عن مَوْطنِ الحِرمانِ

For if you accept what I have offered, then you are

So if you accept what I have given

The farthest of humankind from the abode of deprivation.

You will be far from the abode of deprivation

كُنْ آمِناُ ممّا يَخافُ ذوو الغِنى

كُنْ آمِناُ ممّا يَخافُ ذوو الغِنى

واستَعطِ واحكُمْ عُقْدَةَ الهِيمانِ

واستَعطِ واحكُمْ عُقْدَةَ الهِيمانِ

Be safe from what the wealthy fear,

Be secure from what the wealthy fear

And ask for alms, and tighten the knot of the money belt.

And take control, solve the knot of protection

واجعَلْ لِوَعْدِكَ سوفَ حُصْناً مانعاً

واجعَلْ لِوَعْدِكَ سوفَ حُصْناً مانعاً

واطلُبْ بِهاتِ النّقدَ في الميزانِ

واطلُبْ بِهاتِ النّقدَ في الميزانِ

And make 'I will' an impregnable fortress for your promise,

And make your promise a strong, impenetrable fortress

And demand cash on the scales with 'Give it here!'

And seek with these minted coins on the scale

وَخُذِ الذي قد راحَِ نقداً حاضِراً

وَخُذِ الذي قد راحَِ نقداً حاضِراً

فالوعدُ رَهنُ نوائبِ الحدثانَ

فالوعدُ رَهنُ نوائبِ الحدثانَ

And take what has already become cash in hand,

And take what has become ready cash

For a promise is hostage to the calamities of time.

For the promise is hostage to the vicissitudes of events
