  1. لم أنس اذ ودعته وقد التقت

    منا هنالك بالبكا عينان

    I have not forgotten when I bade him farewell, as they met—

    Our two eyes, there, in tears.

  2. يرنو بنرجسه اليّ وربما

    قرع الأقاح بياسمين ثان

    He gazes at me with his narcissus, and sometimes

    Taps the daisies with a second jasmine.
