لما حللت مقامَ القلبِ إدريساً

لما حللت مقامَ القلبِ إدريساً

ولم أجد فيه تخييلاً وتلبيسا

ولم أجد فيه تخييلاً وتلبيسا

When I entered the heart’s station as Idris,

When I entered the station of the heart as Idris,

And found therein neither illusion nor deception,

and found no illusion or deception within it,

حللت من مشكلاتِ العلمِ ما انعقدت

حللت من مشكلاتِ العلمِ ما انعقدت

فكلُّ ذي علَّةٍ بشرحها يوصى

فكلُّ ذي علَّةٍ بشرحها يوصى

I unraveled whatever had grown knotted among the problems of knowledge;

I unraveled what had become knotted among the difficulties of knowledge;

Thus everyone with an affliction is counseled through its elucidation.

thus everyone with an ailment is advised to explain it.

ورثت منه النبيّ المصطفى وكذا

مع الذي عندنا من روحه عيسى

مع الذي عندنا من روحه عيسى

From him I inherited the Chosen Prophet, and likewise

From him I inherited the chosen Prophet, and likewise,

Jesus, together with what we possess of his spirit;

along with what we have of his spirit, Jesus,

وآدم ثم إبراهيم والدنا

وآدم ثم إبراهيم والدنا

وداود والكليم المجتبى موسى

وداود والكليم المجتبى موسى

And Adam, then Abraham, our father,

and Adam, then Abraham, our father,

And David, and Moses, God’s chosen interlocutor.
