إذا أجنب الإنسان عمَّ طهوره

إذا أجنب الإنسان عمَّ طهوره

كما عمه الإنعاظ قصداً على السوا

كما عمه الإنعاظ قصداً على السوا

When a person enters major ritual impurity, his purification encompasses his whole body,

If man defiles his own purity

just as erection pervaded him, intentionally and in equal measure.

As darkness blinds the high and low

ألم تر أنَّ الله نبّه خلقَه

ألم تر أنَّ الله نبّه خلقَه

بإخراجه بين الترائِب والمطا

بإخراجه بين الترائِب والمطا

Have you not seen that God alerted His creatures

Have you not seen how God alerts His folk

by bringing it forth between the chest bones and the back?

By birthing him amidst doubt and woe

فذاك الذي أجنى عليه طهوره

فذاك الذي أجنى عليه طهوره

ولو غاب بالذاتِ المرادةِ ما جنى

ولو غاب بالذاتِ المرادةِ ما جنى

That, then, is what made purification incumbent upon him;

Then he who fouls his proper purity

and had he been lost in the essence sought, he would not have incurred it.

Though absent in person would as guilty show
