إذا ما المرء غاب عن الوجود

بما يلقاه من غط الشهودِ

بما يلقاه من غط الشهودِ

When a man vanishes from existence,

When a man departs from existence

through the pressure of witnessing that he encounters,

With what he encounters of the veil of witnessing

إذا نزل الأمين عليه يلقي

إذا نزل الأمين عليه يلقي

إليه الوحي من عين المزيد

إليه الوحي من عين المزيد

when the Trustworthy One descends upon him, conveying

When the trusted one descends upon him casting

revelation to him from the wellspring of increase,

Revelation to him from the spring of increase

فيفنيه الفناء عن الوجودِ

فيفنيه الفناء عن الوجودِ

وما يفنيه إلا بالوجودِ

وما يفنيه إلا بالوجودِ

then annihilation effaces him from existence,

So it makes him cease to exist from existence

yet it effaces him only through existence.

And nothing makes him cease to exist but existence

ففيه به فناء العين منه

ففيه به فناء العين منه

وإن يقصد يستر بالجحود

وإن يقصد يستر بالجحود

So in it, through it, the essence’s annihilation comes from it;

So in it with it is the ceasing of the eye from it

and if it is sought, it is veiled by denial.

And if he intends he hides with denial

رأيتُ أهلة طلعت بدوراً

رأيتُ أهلة طلعت بدوراً

مكملةً بمنزلةِ السعودِ

مكملةً بمنزلةِ السعودِ
