ما ليلةَ القدرِ ألا ذاتُ رائيها

وهي الدليل على الخير الذي فيها

What a night is the Night of Decree if not for its Seer,

And it is evidence of the good contained within it.

تحوي على كلِّ خير قيِّدته لنا

بألفِ شهرٍ وذاك القدر يكفيها

It encompasses every good destined for us

In a thousand months, and that predetermined decree suffices it.

ولم يقيد بشيء ما يزيد على

ما قيدته لنا حتى يوفيها

And nothing exceeds

What was predetermined for us until fulfilled.

فليس يحصر غير الذات في عدد

لأنه خير ربٍّ مودع فيها

For none can limit the Essence in number,

Since it is the good of a Lord deposited within it.

وخيره سرمديّ لا انقضاء له

فالله يحرسُها والله يكفيها

And His good is eternal, it has no end,

So God protects it, and God suffices it

من كلِّ عينٍ تؤدّيها إلى عَطَب

ولو قد سعينا في تلافيها

From every eye that would lead it to ruin,

Even if we strived to avoid it.
