قدمنا على أرضِ الحجازِ غدية

قدمنا على أرضِ الحجازِ غدية

وجاء بشيرُ القومِ قد بلغ المنى

وجاء بشيرُ القومِ قد بلغ المنى

We arrived in the land of the Hijaz one morning.

We arrived at the land of Hejaz in the morning

And the people's herald came, having attained his wishes.

And the harbinger of the people came having reached Mina

أيا صاحبيَّ عرِّجا بي على الصفا

أيا صاحبيَّ عرِّجا بي على الصفا

نطوف به أو بالمحصَّبِ من مِنى

نطوف به أو بالمحصَّبِ من مِنى

O my two companions, turn aside with me to Safa.

O my friend, take me to Safa

Let us circumambulate it, or al-Muhassab of Mina.

So we may circumambulate it or al-Muhassab from Mina

فمن طافَ يوماً بين مروةَ والصفا

فمن طافَ يوماً بين مروةَ والصفا

ينزه يومَ الحشر في موقف السّوي

ينزه يومَ الحشر في موقف السّوي

For whoever one day circumambulates between Marwa and Safa

For whoever circumambulates one day between Marwa and Safa

will be purified on the Day of Gathering, at the station of the upright one.

Will be freed on the Day of Resurrection at the Place of Mustering

فكم بين مطلوبٍ يطوفُ بعرشه

فكم بين مطلوبٍ يطوفُ بعرشه

وآخر يسعى بين مروةَ والصفا

وآخر يسعى بين مروةَ والصفا

How great the difference between one sought, who circles his throne,

So how many between the sought who circumambulate His Throne

and another who hastens between Marwa and Safa!

And another who strives between Marwa and Safa

فهذي عباداتُ المراد تخلَّصَتْ

فهذي عباداتُ المراد تخلَّصَتْ

وأنْ ليس للإنسان غيرُ الذي سعى

وأنْ ليس للإنسان غيرُ الذي سعى

Thus these acts of worship of the one sought have become pure,

These are the acts of worship the Desired has been delivered from

and a human being has nothing but what they have striven for.

And that man has none other than what he strove for
