عقلي به فوقَ عقلِ الناسِ كلهمُ

عقلي به فوقَ عقلِ الناسِ كلهمُ

فلستُ أفكر في شيءٍ أقضيهِ

فلستُ أفكر في شيءٍ أقضيهِ

Through Him, my intellect is above that of all people.

My mind surpasses all other minds,

So I do not think about anything I carry out.

I do not think of anything except to execute it.

تصرُّفي ليس عن فكرٍ ولا نظرٍ

تصرُّفي ليس عن فكرٍ ولا نظرٍ

لكن عن الله يوحيه فأُمضيهِ

لكن عن الله يوحيه فأُمضيهِ

My action does not arise from thought or reflection,

My actions are not from thought or reflection,

but from God: He reveals it, so I carry it out.

But from God who inspires me to fulfill them.

الأمر بيني وبين السرِّ منقسمٌ

الأمر بيني وبين السرِّ منقسمٌ

بحاله فهو يرضيني وأرضيه

بحاله فهو يرضيني وأرضيه

The affair is divided between me and the mystery,

The matter between me and the secret is divided,

as it stands: He pleases me, and I please Him.

In its own state it satisfies me and I satisfy it.

فما يكون له من حادثٍ قبلي

فما يكون له من حادثٍ قبلي

يبغي تكوّنه إلا وأقضيه

يبغي تكوّنه إلا وأقضيه

So no event of His comes before me

Nothing happens to it before me,

whose coming into being He seeks, without my bringing it to pass.

That it wants to take shape except that I execute it.

فليس يمكنه إلا سياستنا

فليس يمكنه إلا سياستنا

وليس يمكننا إلا ترضيه

وليس يمكننا إلا ترضيه

So He can do nothing but govern us,

It cannot happen except by our governance,

and we can do nothing but please Him.

And we cannot do anything except please it.

فكل ما هو فيه من مكانتنا

فكل ما هو فيه من مكانتنا

وكلُّ ما نحن فيه من مراضيه

وكلُّ ما نحن فيه من مراضيه

So all that He is engaged in comes from our station,

Everything that is part of our status,

and all that we are engaged in comes from what pleases Him.

And everything we are part of its pleasures.
