مواقفُ الحقِّ أدَّبْتني

وإنما يوقفُ الأديبُ

وإنما يوقفُ الأديبُ

The stations of the Real have schooled me;

and only the well-mannered one is made to stand.

أشهد في ذاته كفاحاً

أشهد في ذاته كفاحاً

فلم أجد شمسها تغيبُ

فلم أجد شمسها تغيبُ

I behold Him in His essence, face to face,

and I have not found its sun setting.

واتحدت ذاتنا فلما

واتحدت ذاتنا فلما

كنتُ أنا العاشقُ الحبيبُ

كنتُ أنا العاشقُ الحبيبُ

And our essence became one; then, when

I myself was the lover, the beloved,

أرسلني بالصفاتِ كيما

أرسلني بالصفاتِ كيما

يعرفني العاقلُ المصيبُ

يعرفني العاقلُ المصيبُ

He sent me with the attributes, so that

the wise one who judges rightly might know me,

فيأخذ السرَّ من فؤادي

فيأخذ السرَّ من فؤادي

فتغتذي باسمه القلوب

فتغتذي باسمه القلوب

and thus take the secret from my heart,

so hearts are nourished by His name.
